A year ago today, I sat down at my computer and wrote my first blog post here at Cate’s Cates.
And then, because I can’t shut up, I wrote my first recipe a couple of hours later.
And because I *really* can’t shut up, I’ve written another 261 posts since then.
It’s interesting to see which posts have been popular and which haven’t. The Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake book post has been, the most popular thing I’ve written by a factor of about ten. I like it, too… To my surprise, the top three recipes have been my Primary Colour Marble Cake, my not-purple Carrot Cupcakes and my Lemon Meringue Sponge Cake. And not a chocolatey recipe in the lot of them!
Those were your favourite posts and recipes.
These are some of mine…
Pizza Serafina A recipe from my childhood, and one which still makes me happy. Rhubarb Crumble I’ve been back to this one so many times since I came up with it, and I still love it. Scones One of my favourite authors made scones successfully for the first time by following this recipe. How amazing is that? Chocolate, coconut and raspberry cupcakes Another one I’ve gone back to again and again, especially for work functions. Cupcakes that taste better the day after you make them are about the most useful thing I’ve come up with. And they’re vegan! Raw, vegan, mini Christmas Puddings Because they are possibly the cutest thing I’ve made this year. Or ever. And they really do taste like Christmas Pudding! Conversion tables Because I am, as far as I know, the only food blogger who gives oven temperature conversions for degrees Kelvin.
And none of this would have been any fun without you, really.
Happy blogiversary, O my readers – it’s absolutely wonderful having you here, and I look forward to seeing you here in the coming year!
